Crazy Fish Restaurant – Lake Wales
Well, OK. Crazy Fish is not a restaurant in Sebring Florida. It’s not that far away, however, and it’s a pleasant drive up highway 27 to Lake Wales, home of this eclectic, but oh my, so very good, eatery.
Our first visit, and not our last I assure you, was a Tuesday lunch. Meeting there with friends meant that be both had a about a 40 minute drive to get there, so we opted to arrive at 11:30 when Crazy Fish in Lake Wales opens. There were people in line when we got there. Within 30 minutes of the doors opening, the restaurant was full and there were folks waiting for a seat. That’s for lunch, on a Tuesday.
The restaurant locale and first impression are not at all imposing. Downright shoddy we thought. Inside is a bit of a step up image wise, but still nothing to write home about.
Yet the reason that this is an award winning restaurant will not become abundantly clear until your meal arrives! We all ordered something different from their broadly appealing menu. We all had our meals delivered promptly at the same time and all were piping hot. All were absolutely delicious.
Forget about how Crazy Fish looks folks, focus on the food!
The table service was fast and friendly adding to our enjoyment.
We’ll probably be eating there for lunch as opposed to dinner simply because, for us, it’s a bit of a drive back to our digs in Sebring, and frankly, we don’t like driving after dark.
If you are in close proximity however, or have young eyes and don’t mind driving at night, I expect dinner at Crazy Fish to be even better than our lunch experience was for us.
You get the chance, you take in Crazy Fish for a meal. I doubt you’ll be disappointed.
