If you are somewhere near the south end of Sebring, or even if farther north from there, you can experience some pretty good fare and pub atmosphere if you wish to make the short drive to Dock 633 in Lake Placid.
It’s on Lake June Road and can be reached , which is our preferred routed, before getting to Lake Placid by taking a right turn off southbound highway 27 at Clearwater Road, a bit north of Lake Placid.
You get to enjoy a very nice drive off of 27, a view of Redwater Lake on the right as you pass, and then, when you get to the hard left turn to stay on Clearwater Road, you pass by a larger, and as far as I can tell, unnamed lake.
Then you get to Lake June Road, take a left turn, and just a bit along you’ll find Dock 633 on the left.
Yes, it’s pub fare, yet one of the treats we enjoy there is their Boom Boom shrimp, a clear shot at the Bonefish Grill’s Bang Bang Shrimp in our opinion. It’s as good as the shrimp specialty of Bonefish Grill, though it’s hotter and has a different but equally good flavor, with the batter not quite as crisp as BG, we thought. But Mmmm good!
Not just the Boom Boom shrimp however. The Mahi Mahi tacos are special. So many things to try. We’ll get back there again soon.
They have lots of specials, prices are reasonable, the drinks are economical if you are inclined for that sort of thing, and we have no problem recommending them for a nice pub meal.
There is outside patio seating at the rear, though it’s not as pleasant as it could be as it overlooks only the rear parking lot.
If you are a sports fan there’s about a gazillion TV’s all around the rooms, many showing different sports events none of which you can hear though, as all sound seems to be turned right off.
Though we haven’t been there later in the evening, the sense we have as this place gets kind of lively later in the day and probably equally so on major sporting events.
Regardless of the time you get there, enjoy some pretty good and well priced food at Dock 633.
