Market 27 Restaurant

To be fair to the rest of the restaurants in Sebring, the Market 27 restaurant is not in Sebring. It’s about 12-13 miles north on the left side of highway 27, depending on where you start your drive and if you are proceeding north from Sebring to get there.

So why make that 12 mile each-way trip?

Market 27 isn’t just a restaurant, it’s an experience. And they cook good!

Market 27 – a variety store?

Market 27 looks like a roadside variety store. When you go inside you realize, well, that it is a variety store.

It’s also a take out soup and chili counter. From January 10 “Today’s Fresh-made soups: Pinto beans Ham, cabbage Ham Potato, chicken Vegetable, Loaded Potato, butter Bean ham, broccoli cheese, Hearty Beef Chili & tomato Basil!”

Market 27 is an ice cream parlor with huge portions of Hershey ice cream at very low cost.

When you turn to the right after entering you’ll see the “sit down” portion of the premises. It’s large and inviting. Go there! When our neighbors had talked often about going to Market 27 one day we said “next time you go, you want company?” Indeed they did, so off we went.

Parking lot… packed. At first glance, no seating in the “sit down” part, but then, we saw there was a whole other room to the rear, and we found space for the eight of us there.

In January 2020 a pitcher of ice cold domestic beer was $8.00. Enough to fill the four plastic frosted mugs at our table and then some.

Supreme pizzas were recommended and that’s just what we ordered. Even though there were many patrons, the service was fast, the pizza was hot, and oh my, very delicious. But not just pizzas. Market 27 offers a good wide range of dishes for lunch and supper.

Our neighboring table, full of friends of ours, had a variety of dishes, and the only one not pleased with their meal was the one person that ordered a vegetarian type dish.

Market 27. Out of the norm in terms of restaurants, yet very worthwhile taking in, as far as we’re concerned.
