In case you are wondering where Sebring Florida U.S.A. is, it’s just a little over half way down and almost in the middle of the state of Florida, U.S.A.
If you were to look at a map of the latitudes in North America, Sebring is pretty much on the same latitude as Brownsville Texas. Or, just about on the same level with Loreto, in the Baja Peninsula.
Sebring Florida, with a population of about 10,500 (2016 stats), has been around since 1912. This lovely central Florida destination is named after George Sebring, a pottery manufacturer from the Northern U.S. who took up residence here, and built his estate, on the shores of Lake Jackson, the big lake that graces Sebring.
Like many small towns in Florida, many of the industries and reasons why the town existed in the first place have been supplanted by new technology, industry relocation, new forms of transport, etc. Nevertheless, with a rich Florida history and much to see and do in Sebring and surrounding areas, it’s a nice place to be seasonally or all the time.
