Visiting Sebring and not got downtown on the circle yet? Or just thinking of visiting Sebring Florida? For all of those folks and anyone else, resident or Snowbird, here’s a bit of Christmas in Sebring Florida.
Evidently they do it every year, but since this is the first Christmas we’re spending in our Snowbird destination, this is our first experience of the absolutely delightful Christmas display smack dab in the center of Sebring in the circle.
Like anywhere near the circle in Sebring, and almost any time of the year, parking is no problem.
We rolled up Pomegranate from Lakeview Drive, and then right onto N. Commerce street and there was almost no one else in the parking spots on the street. We parked less than a block from the circle. And this was a Saturday night in December, 2018.
From the street the whole circle was ablaze with lights of all colors. It was enchantingly beautiful.
As we got closer the assembly of illumination differentiated into lighted pathways and light vignettes on every side. Christmas themes abounded, with some displays overlapping other, treat filled seasons, of the year we thought.
We were particularly enchanted by sleeping beauty, with all her lighted escorts, underneath the Spanish Moss draping from the trees in the circle.
Believe it or not, if you wanted to, you could get snowed on in Sebring Florida at Christmas. One of the stores on the circle had set up a “snow making” machine in front of their establishment.
We lined up so that we, too, could get a photo of “snow” in Sebring at Christmas.
Fortunately, since it was 79 degrees at the time, there was no accumulation on the ground,. Though we expect that someone will have to come out with a hose to wash away the soap suds!
Everywhere you looked there was eye candy, most looking good enough to eat!
The images on this page cannot due justice to the incredible array of lights in the circle.
We along with dozens of other folks and tons of little children waited patiently for Santa Claus to come visit, and he did! Between 6-9 each night until Christmas Santa is “in residence” in the circle, welcoming all girls and boys to visit and have a chat.
Sorry, but the photos of old Santa were, strangely, all out of focus. It was almost as if he didn’t want a photo op. Certainly, it couldn’t have been the limitations of the photographer, could it?
Right in the center of the circle was the featured display. The “Christmas Tree” festooned with hundreds of lights flashing and dazzling the eye. Once again, the photo offers a poor imitation of the real thing.
A bit of Christmas in Sebring Florida, indeed. Thanks to all the folks in Sebring that had a hand in putting this together. And thanks to Santa and his elves for making time in their busy, busy schedule to stop in to the City on the Circle.
We’re going to try and visit the circle a couple of more times before Santa heads back to the North Pole to begin his world-wide and whirl-wind journey and the lights are extinguished for another year.
Did you visit? Do you have, and of this we have no doubt, better photos than these? Please feel free to add a comment below, and if you would like a photo added to this page, or any other page on this site if you wish, contact us and we’ll make it happen.
Thank you and Merry Christmas!
